Position Summary

Responsible for daily accounts receivable processing of payments received for Enable Midstream Partners, L.P. and its subsidiaries.  Duties will include timely posting of payments into SAP and responding to inquiries.  The employee will be responsible for understanding the accounts receivable process and the application of cash for payments received.

 

This position performs responsibilities with standardized processes. Works under general supervision. Resolves routine questions and problems using basic principles of functional area. Refers more complex issues to higher levels. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job. There is some latitude for deviation associated with this level.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Apply both manual and electronic cash receipts to outstanding customer accounts receivables.
  • Maintain supporting documentation and schedules for payments received.
  • Prepare journal entry documents for entry when necessary.
  • Obtain journal entry support and upload to SAP or other systems.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure balances are accurate.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Assist in the preparation of various accounting schedules and reports.
  • Document work in a manner that complies with Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Effectively utilize automation tools to streamline the department’s processes.
  • Promote a team environment that focuses on supporting other employees to ensure departmental success.

Minimum Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
    Four (4) years accounting experience (i.e.: AP, AR, GL, Tax, or Property).
  • OR
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
    Six (6) hours of Accounting courses.
    Two (2) years accounting experience (i.e.: AP, AR, GL, Tax, or Property).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of organizational procedures, administrative policies and procedures.
  • Oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to interface with diverse personalities and receive instruction, guidance and direction from others.
  • Ability to work and participate in a team-based environment to accomplish assignments.

  • Ability to handle confidential information and material with the highest degree of professional responsibility.
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule tasks, respond well to changing priorities, pay attention to detail and demonstrate quality time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain data and information in an organized and easily accessible manner.
  • Skills in computer applications, databases and reporting software (Microsoft Office Suite applications, SAP).

  • Respect and follow safety policies and regulations; scan the environment for objects or people who may pose a safety risk; encourage others to utilize safe and healthy work practices.

Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary to light work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to bend and stoop for filing.
  • Ability to view computer screen, sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a computer, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment with high daily pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work non-standard work hours as needed or required to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether cubicle, open office or private office.
  • Subject to normal office noise levels.
