Position Summary:

Contributes to the execution of the company's integrity management (IM) program to ensure the public is protected through the continued safe and reliable operation of our pipeline system. Utilizes data management and analytical skills to support Integrity Management goals. Researches and evaluates construction records to determine accuracy and adequacy; gleans information required to populate Pipeline Open Data Standard (PODS) database. Utilizes knowledge of federal, state and local regulations related to Integrity Management (e.g. 49 CFR 192 and 195) to complete daily tasks. Supports the Class Location and High Consequence Area (HCA) boundary determination process by ensuring data is properly stored and tracked. Supports Spill Modeling and Risk Assessment by entering data into appropriate databases. Gathers required data for root-cause analysis. Supports Preventive and Mitigative Measures by providing required data. Supports Enable during federal and state IM regulatory audits.


This position requires a seasoned and experienced individual with adequate understanding of own job area. Work is performed independently and under limited supervision. Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Frequently applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Determines approach to work and is supervised based on milestones and at key deliverable junctures. Work is reviewed for overall accuracy and soundness of judgement.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Determine Class Locations and HCA segments along pipeline system.
  • Gather required data to perform Spill Modeling and Risk Assessments.
  • Gather performance metrics for key elements of the Integrity Management Plan.
  • Review construction records and identify gaps and errors in PODS database.
  • Collect and organize operational data from diverse data sources. Prepare schedules, reports and summaries.
  • Conduct compliance reviews of Integrity Management Program documents and processes.
  • Assist with federal and state audits of Integrity Management programs.
  • Provide guidance on reporting systems and data sources.


Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree. In lieu of a degree, six (6) years' related experience will be considered.
  • Two (2) years' directly related experience.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Cartography or experience in GIS related field.
  • Working knowledge of ESRI suite (ArcGIS) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ESRI Model Builder, Geoprocessing tool creation, and/or MS Access preferred.
  • Experience with developing, manipulating, and synchronizing large spatial datasets preferred.
  • Experience with geoprocessing spatial data from diverse data sources is preferred.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations related to Integrity Management program (e.g. 49 CFR 192 and 195).
  • Ability to distill data into concise and easily understood concepts and recommendations.
  • Data management skills; ability to audit, format, model and analyze large data sets.
  • Knowledge of natural gas and liquid operations.
  • Knowledge of internal/external audits.
  • Ability to effectively handle pressures and demands of deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and material with the highest degree of professional responsibility.
  • Skills in computer applications, databases, and reporting software (Microsoft Office Suite, PODS, GIS, Maximo and Risk/Spill modeling software).
  • Collaboration skills in order to partner effectively with others in the department.
  • Knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers.
  • Demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, company’s ethics code of conduct and other company policies and procedures.
  • Respect and follow safety policies and regulations; scan the environment for objects or people who may pose a safety risk; encourage others to utilize safe and healthy work practices.



Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary to light work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to view computer screen, sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a computer, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.


Working Conditions:

  • Ability to produce quality work in fast paced environment with high daily pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work non-standard work hours as needed or required to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether cubicle, open office or private office.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to field and office locations, including overnight stays.
  • Subject to normal office noise levels.
