Position Summary:

Enterprise Content Management refers to a set of processes and technologies to manage information flows across the organization. This position leads the development and continuous support of the content management technical platform. Partners with business groups to facilitate adoption and migration of unstructured data and documents into the platform, provides training and support to business groups, and partners with business groups to design document taxonomies, define meta-data, and design document migration processes.


This position requires advanced knowledge within a functional area and is often considered an expert in the area of responsibility. Performs work without appreciable direction and completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results. Develops technical solutions to highly complex or interrelated problems. Requires the ability to interpret and adapt theory and concepts into workable solutions. Leads and mentors less experienced professionals.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement policy, processes, standards and templates for effective content organization and management.
  • Provide guidance and direction in the enterprise content management strategy to enable efficient organization and management of structured and unstructured data.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of Content Management software platforms and systems to manage information flows across the organization.
  • Provide training and support of the Content Management platform to business groups.
  • Utilize understanding of information governance and lifecycle to ensure proper archival and disposition of enterprise content.
  • Assist business teams with work flow design and implementation.
  • Partner with business teams to define and capture relevant document meta-data.
  • Define and implement document taxonomies.
  • Work with business groups to define and implement document migration processes.
  • Assess enterprise content and information management requirements, identify technologies, methods and systems used to capture, manage, store and deliver content and information that support collaboration, knowledge sharing and reuse.
  • Work in conjunction with various cross-functional teams to ensure enterprise content is stored, preserved and accessible for legal and regulatory purposes.


Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. In lieu of a degree, six (6) years’ directly related experience will be considered.
  • Eight (8) years’ directly related experience.

  • Advanced knowledge in content management software platforms, data/information architecture, metadata management, and organization systems (e.g. taxonomies).
  • Understanding of information governance.
  • Understanding of information lifecycle-from capture through archiving and disposition.
  • Ability to balance the long-term (‘big picture”) and short-term implications of individual decisions.
  • Ability to translate business needs into requirements.
  • Ability to apply multiple solutions to business problems.

  • Advanced knowledge of IT systems, practices, and development life cycles.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary to light work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to view computer screen, sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a computer, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.


Working Conditions:

  • Ability to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment with high daily pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work non-standard work hours as needed or required to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether cubicle, open office or private office.
  • Subject to normal office noise levels.
