Position Summary:

 

This position is responsible for oversight of Enable’s natural gas commodity exposures and tracking commodity purchase/sale transactions. Analyzes, forecasts and reports on various commercial and operational activities related to Enable’s Transportation & Storage and Gathering & Processing systems. Provides varied and complex management and/or operational analysis, reports and recommendations in support of business/departmental programs. Performs various evaluations, controls, and calculations to produce, support and maintain data system integrity. Integrates and compiles data into quantifiable summaries, models and forecasts for development, review and approval of issue action plans. Develops recommendations to improve operational processes based on analysis.

 

This position requires comprehensive knowledge within a functional area. Performs work under general direction and work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives and ensuring compliance with processes, standards and policies of the organization. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult and complex problems. This position may train and mentor less experienced professionals.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Forecast, track and analyze commodity exposures, fuel consumption, imbalances and inventories resulting from Enable system operations and contractual settlement.
  • Analyze volume trends, pricing, asset utilization, contractual terms and other key operational and economic statistics to identify key performance drivers and explain variances.
  • Support the decision support and reporting requirements of the business using various tools such as: Business Objects, Power BI and Excel.
  • Perform profitability assessments, trend analysis, reconciliations and other ad-hoc evaluations.
  • Serve as a source of expertise on reporting systems and data sources.
  • Collaborate with department management and recommend specific actions in response to analysis.
  • Lead in identifying appropriate statistical and modeling procedures, metrics, budgetary requirements and information requirements for Company.
  • Take action in a self-directed manner to identify issues and make recommendations to department leadership.
  • Apply best practices and knowledge of internal/external businesses issues to improve processes or services.
  • Solve problems and develop solutions that call for original approach based on thorough and comprehensive knowledge and expertise.
  • Provide guidance and leadership for daily activities and projects.
  • Plan, prioritize, conduct and lead assignments.
  • Partner with internal network of contacts.

Minimum Education & Experience:

 

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five (5) years' directly related experience.
  • Oil and gas industry experience preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

 

  • Ability to distill very complex data into concise and easily understood concepts and recommendations.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience; ability to recognize, analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Strong skills in computer applications, databases and reporting software (Excel, Access, Word, VBA, Business Objects, Power BI).
  • Data analytics and business intelligence experience; including SQL and database management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills in order to partner effectively across various levels of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers.
  • Work independently; with guidance in only the most complex situations.
  • Ability to effectively handle pressures and demands of deadlines and competing priorities.

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Sedentary to light work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to view computer screen, sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a computer, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.

 

Working Conditions:

 

  • Ability to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment with high daily pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work non-standard work hours as needed or required to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether cubicle, open office or private office.
  • Subject to normal office noise levels.
