Summary:  The Senior Communications Partner will identify solutions and associated communications to drive achievement of Enable Midstream's business objectives. Works primarily with internal business units to develop communications strategies, plans and measurable outcomes to support business unit objectives. Identifies appropriate channels, tone, and format for communications to achieve measurable metrics tied to business objectives. Creates and edits communications content across all mediums. Collaborates with Communications & Community Affairs team to provide solutions tied to business objectives.

This position requires comprehensive knowledge within a functional area. Work is performed under general direction and is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives and to ensure compliance with processes, standards and policies of the organization.  Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult and complex problems.  Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent with the objective of the organization.  May train and mentor less experienced professionals.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Build a deep understanding of internal business partners’ objectives in order to tie communications to desired business unit outcomes and broader company goals.
  • Uncover internal clients’ communication needs and priorities.  Provide consultation and expert advice focusing on high-value work.
  • Create communications plans for all initiatives that clearly demonstrate the link between desired business outcome and chosen communications activities.
  • Develop rapport and credibility with business partners, building constructive and effective relationships to develop an understanding of business needs.
  • Identify, track, and report outcome-focused metrics
  • Act in a consultative capacity by providing expertise and influence in the development of strategic communication plans and ensure alignment of strategic communications plans to overall business strategy. Drive business partner understanding and perspective to focus on outcome-based communications.
  • Identify top drivers of corporate strategy and areas where Communications can drive value.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of company’s ecosystem, including the industry, global trends, macroeconomic changes, and regulatory changes, and understands how communication can help the business achieve chief objectives.
  • Manage the editorial strategy and timeline for the company intranet, maintaining alignment and coordination between business unit and corporate communications priorities.
  • Monitor communications for strict adherence to company style guide, design standards and alignment with key messages.
  • Identify, track, analyze and report metrics to determine level of achievement of communications plans.
  • Guide and mentor Communications & Community Affairs teammates for continual development.
  • Collaborate horizontally and vertically to ensure project information and knowledge sharing, as well as integration of activities across the organization to present coherent, timely and consistent messages.

 

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field.
  • Six (6) years directly related experience in communications, public relations, journalism and/or related field.
  • Experience in the energy industry is a definite plus, but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop.
  • Able to sit and view computer terminal for extended periods of time.
  • Able to travel as required to perform job responsibilities (up to 15%).

 

Working Conditions:

  • Able to work in a fast-paced office environment with high daily pressure.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Able to work irregular or extended hours (nights and/or weekends) occasionally, as needed or required to meet established deadlines. 
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision to bring projects to completion on time and on budget.
