Position Summary:


Formulates, evaluates and executes growth strategy alternatives for Enable. Leads company strategy update effort including the annual Board of Directors strategic review. Develops and leads internal M&A process and oversees coordination of cross functional execution and due diligence teams within Enable. Leads transaction negotiations from start to finish, leveraging internal resources as necessary to ensure successful execution.


Accountable for performance of multiple complex departments areas or a highly complex and specialized department. Establishes short-, medium- and long-term business plans for area of responsibility. Executes functional business plans and is an integral stakeholder in establishing functional strategy. Controls resources and policy formation in areas of responsibility. Utilizes judgement and advanced knowledge of multiple departments and/or divisions to determine approach to operational and strategic issues that impact multiple departments, divisions, functions and have substantial risk or monetary impact for the company. Applies advanced knowledge of functional area and understanding of the organization to find creative solutions to problems and opportunities that are unprecedented and impact broad segments of the company or its customer base. Manages the performance of a team of directors, managers, supervisors, professional staff, technicians and/or business support staff. Mentors and coaches staff on performance, completes and reviews employee performance evaluations and recommends pay actions.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Formulate and evaluate growth strategy alternatives, through the use of:
    • Industry macro trends analysis across commodities
    • Analysis of competitive dynamics in core basins, basis/transportation markets, and downstream markets (e.g. LNG, Petrochemicals, various hubs, Mexico, Canada)
    • Extensive knowledge of Enable’s assets and operations
    • Knowledge of producer assets and operations
    • Asset and corporate valuation trends monitoring and insight
  • Lead cross-firm strategy update effort including the annual Board of Directors strategic review
  • Develop and implement analytically robust framework for screening and evaluating of strategic opportunities/deal flow, both proactively and in reaction to market inquiries.
  • Build and lead M&A/strategic combination analysis function (modeling, executive leadership briefing and communication) in partnership with Business Development/FP&A/Economic Evaluation.
  • Lead internal M&A process and coordination of cross functional execution and diligence teams within Enable - partner closely with departments and business units to coordinate, execute, and enhance the M&A process and deal execution.
  • Contribute to Enable’s investor story formulation and calibration in partnership with Commercial/FP&A/Economic Evaluation/Investor Relations.
  • Build strong relationships across functions and divisions within the company and maintain an open flow of communication.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for use by senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Engage and leverage relationships with senior-level leaders at peers/competitors, industry thought leaders, potential customers/shippers, and PE/Infrastructure capital players.
  • Lead a team of junior Corporate Development professionals.
  • Focus on team development and retention, including cross training and cross functional project exposure, role rotations, and fostering written and verbal communication excellence.


Minimum Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Twelve (12) years of related experience in finance and accounting in the oil/gas sector.
  • Five (5) years of experience in energy sector M&A execution in advisory or principal capacity.
  • Candidates with investment banking or private equity experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:


  • Sedentary to light work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to view computer screen, sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a computer, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.


Working Conditions:


  • Ability to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether cubicle, open office or private office.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to work or field locations, and/or to attend meetings or training, including overnight stays.
  • Subject to normal office noise levels.
