Position Summary:

 

Supports Enable’s financial budgeting and forecasting process by interacting with stakeholders from across the company to collect raw data, analyzing it to prepare usable information and ensuring data accuracy. Provides varied and complex financial analysis, forecasting, reporting and modeling. Develops recommendations for actions based on analysis. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships to gather key information required to understand and effectively capture forecasts. Utilizes working knowledge of business and function operations to make recommendations to enhance forecasts and minimize variances.

 

This position requires comprehensive knowledge within a functional area. Work is performed under general direction and is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives and to ensure compliance with processes, standards and policies of the organization. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult and complex problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent with the objective of the organization. May train and mentor less experienced professionals.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Gather forecast inputs from across the organization, perform financial analysis and modeling and prepare related forecast reports and presentations.
  • Create complex financial models with an understanding of the inputs and desired outputs and ability to check for overall accuracy.
  • Provide guidance and leadership for day-to-day activities and projects.
  • Synthesize data and analysis into high-level reports and presentations for management and the board of directors.
  • Prepare and present summary analysis and present to management.
  • Serve as a source of expertise for financial models and reporting systems developed by the Finance department.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization.
  • Take action in a self-directed manner to identify issues and make recommendations to department leadership.
  • Develop and analyze financial scenarios and forecast variances, benchmarking studies, cost comparisons, productivity/efficiency studies and other ad-hoc analysis.
  • Prepare quarterly financial forecast presentations for senior management and the board of directors.
  • Lead the review and development of financial measurement standards.
  • Compile, manipulate, analyze and interpret data taken from internal/external data sources.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets and databases in support of the financial forecasting process.
  • Validate the rationale behind forecast assumptions, identifying risks and opportunities in forecast scenarios by partnering with department leadership.
  • Apply best practices to improve financial planning and analysis processes, documenting and standardizing processes where possible.
  • Support executive team with ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Support the monthly close process, collaborating with Accounting if needed.
  • Act as a resource for Analysts with less experience.
  • Solve problems and develop solutions that call for original approach based on thorough and comprehensive knowledge and expertise.

 

Minimum Education & Experience:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or other related discipline.
  • Five (5) years' directly related experience.
  • Energy industry or midstream experience preferred.
  • Experience with Hyperion, BPC or other Enterprise Performance Management software solutions preferred.

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Sedentary to light work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to view computer screen, sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a computer, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.

 

Working Conditions:

 

  • Ability to produce quality work in fast paced environment with high daily pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work non-standard work hours as needed or required to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether cubicle, open office or private office.
  • Subject to normal office noise levels.
